# A Weekly Sales Report That Writes Itself, Checks Itself, and Waits for Approval

How we turned a weekly sales reporting grind of exports, screenshots and redrafting into a short conversation with a Copilot Studio assistant that checks every number and never sends without approval.

## The challenge

Every week, a regional sales manager at a consumer products company went through the same routine: export the data, clean it, screenshot the Power BI dashboard, paste it all into a chat assistant, then rework output that changed from week to week. All of that happened before he could write a word of analysis.

## What we did

We built an assistant in Microsoft Copilot Studio that turns the routine into a short conversation:

1. **Start the week.** The assistant pulls the week's numbers from Power BI and checks every total.
2. **Review together.** It suggests what matters. He keeps, changes or drops each finding, and adds the why.
3. **Approve the drafts.** Two drafts wait in his Outlook. Nothing is ever sent for him.
4. **It learns.** It gets better every week from his feedback.

The assistant does the legwork. The person decides and sends.

## The results

- **Time:** built to turn a three-hour weekly job into a half-hour review.
- **Accuracy:** compared side by side with the report he actually sent, the assistant found the same story and the same figures.
- **Focus:** his time now goes on judgement, not data prep.

## In their words

> "It's a lot more productive to be able to prompt it and ask questions to get your insights, instead of going back into the file, digging in and pulling up a different one."
